Programming of Lego Mindstorms Robot on Ocean Mat - Action Blocks

Students will learn to make the robot move in different ways my using the various Action Blocks.

Challenge 1: Starting from Black Island, the robot must roll north for a distance of 6 rotations.

Challenge 2: Starting from Black Island, the robot must roll as close to the turtle as possible without rolling over it. You must find the right number of rotations without using a sensor.

 

CLASS 39 - FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2016

Students will learn to make the robot move in different ways my using the various Action Blocks.

Challenge 3: Starting from Black Island, the robot must roll north for a distance of at least 6 rotations, then turn around and return to the starting point.

 

CLASS 40 - MONDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2016

Students will build an addition to the front of their base model (Riley Rover) in order to pick up (push) different items on the Ocean Mat.

CLASS 42 - FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2016

 

Programming of Lego Mindstorms Robot on Ocean Mat - Action Blocks, Flow Blocks and Sensor Blocks

Students will build the colour/ultrasonic sensor attachment and will learn to make the robot react when detecting speceific colours, using the colour sensor with the wait block.

Challenge 5: Starting from the port, the robot must detect a contaminated zone (shown as a colour on the mat). Once it has reached the zone, the robot must stop and repeat a sound (beep) 5 times.
