SCIENCE OLYMPICS WEEK
Activity 1: Marble Roller Coaster
Aim: Students must build cardboard tube roller coasters designed to maximize points awarded for design difficulty and accuracy.
Activity 2: Straw Egg Drop
Aim: Students must build a device of straws and masking tape to hold a large, raw egg. The device containing the egg will be dropped from a fixed height to a target. The egg must survive the fall without damaging its shell.
Activity 3: Bridge Building
Aim: Students must build a lengthy, strong and stable bridge using 70 plastic straws. The bridge must be able to support a chalkboard eraser or a similar object in weight at the center.
